I attended a seminar titled Sustaining the Passion and Enjoying your Work this morning. The speaker went through the slides quite fast so whatever I listed below are what I managed to copy down and recall.
Hopefully, it helps to sustain the passion and enjoying your work.
PASSION – U’ve got to PASS It ON
Be prepared to learn totally irrelevant things
Always ask questions
Capture ->Expand ->Apply ->Teach

SELF
• Prior to passion, need to sit back and examine self, where are U now?
• VISION – Do U have vision? Do U love your vision? Do U have faith that u’ll get it?
• Talk about creating the future U want.
• From reactive to proactive and now be CREATIVE.
• Question is….what do U want? Do U know?
• When U know what U truly want, that vision will drive U, it will change your behaviour and outlook.
• To get to what U want, one can achieve extraordinary results with extraordinary vision.
• If U have compelling vision, it will direct your energy to it.
• When we don’t have a vision, we will be wandering because vision tells us where to go and pushes us on.
• When we stumble we get up and press on.
• The brain helps when we have a clear picture of what we want (RAS).
• RAS (Reticular Activating System in the brain) determines which stimuli will make an impact and which will be filtered out
PASSION
• Great desire for something
• Intense emotions flow
• What are you passionate about?
• What gives you oomph?!
• Integrate passion into your life.
• Spread your excitement
• Keep on learning and learn to accept changes.
• Create an environment full of passion and when U compete with the strategically planned, rational organization, no matter how brilliant there is no fear.
• Passionate people have lots of energy, spread excitement, work hard and have zest for life.
• Inner drive inspired by vision for a better world.
• Passion lifts up, inspires you and heightens your performance
• It is not a privilege of the fortunate, we all have passion.
• Once U infuse with passion, U create new opportunities
• Talk to people who are passionate about something and U see them come to life.
WORK
• Work occupies so much of our lives that we need to love what we do
• It is something that gives meaning to life.
• Love your work and do what you love.
• Always you have been told that work is a curse and labour a misfortune. But I say to you that when you work you fulfil a part of earth’s furthest dream, assigned to you when that dream was born, And in keeping yourself with labour you are in truth loving life, And to love life through labour is to be intimate with life’s inmost secret – Kahlil Gibran quotes from The Prophet
• We must see something in what we do.
• If we found meaning in what we do, we imbue the meaning.
• Work should be where we expressed our uniqueness
• No need to make big different…remember the ripple effect.
• Be the change you want to see in the world
• Care about your work until your work becomes a gift to yourself.
• Choose your attitude. Attitude not aptitude determines our altitude
