A song by Extreme titled ‘More than Words’ released in 1990 or 1991 came into my mind today. It is a very lovely love ballad song and till now I still love listening to this song.
The song is about a guy who loves a girl and he knows that the girl loves him but he wants the girl to show her love by more than saying “I love you”. To the guy, if the girl showed him affection and emotion, there is no need for him to hear the words “I love you”, as he already knows that she loves him. Probably, the guy feels that the girl is not attached to him emotionally.
Just a few days ago, I was emailing a friend and we had a short discussion about sincerity. He said sincerity just like knowledge and love, which could be known from actions and not from words and I quoted an example for him. I said that a lot of people nowadays professed their love to their partner with lack of sincerity. I mean they said it for the sake of saying to please their partners and they forgot that being in love means working hard at making it works. This does not apply to couples in love only but it applies to everyone out there. That reminds me of ‘The Five Love Languages’ and I’ll post about it next.
